If you’re thinking about using the Disney Dining Plan during your Walt Disney World vacation, go no further.
Below explains which plans are offered, how much it costs, and more. Let’s talk the ins and outs of the 2025 Disney Dining Plan!
In this article
What is the Disney Dining Plan?
The Disney Dining Plan is completely optional for those staying at an on-site Disney World Resort hotel.
For an additional price, you simply add on a Disney Dining Plan. When you do this, you are essentially pre-paying for the food you will eat during that particular trip.
When it comes time for your trip, you will have an allotted number of credits to use for your meals.
How do you buy a Disney Dining Plan?
There are three ways you can add on a Disney Dining Plan:
- When booking a vacation package (includes both a room and tickets) online or by calling Disney
- When booking a Disney Vacation Club reservation online or by calling
- When booking a room-only reservation, aka a “ticketless package,” online, by calling Disney, or having a travel agent add it

You can add on a Disney Dining Plan after booking your trip by visiting your My Disney Experience account and clicking “My Plans”. Once you find your reservation, click “Change Reservation” and you should be able to add the Disney Dining Plan.
Important: If you book a split resort stay (if you’re staying at 2 or more resorts), you will need to add a Disney Dining Plan to each reservation if you want the Dining Plan for your entire visit.
How much does the Disney Dining Plan cost?
The price of a Disney Dining Plan varies based on which one you purchase.

It’s also important to know that you can only purchase a Disney Dining Plan for the entire length of your trip — not just for select days.
2025 Disney Dining Plan (price and credits)
| Dining Plan Name | Quick Service Credits | Table Service Credits | Snack Credits | Price per person, per day (ages 10+) | Price per child, per day (ages 3-9) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Disney Quick Service Dining Plan | 2 | 0 | 1 | $59.14 | $24.71 |
| Disney Dining Plan | 1 | 1 | 1 | $97.79 | $30.56 |
Keep in mind that both of these plans include one resort-refillable drink mug. You can only get refills from self-service stations at any Disney Resort hotel Quick Service location.
You should also know that besides Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Cinderella’s Royal Table, gratuity is not included in the pricing.
As for kids ages 2 and under, they do not require a dining plan. You can get them their own plate at a buffet and they can eat off your plate at other locations. An additional meal may also be purchased from the menu. The price of the meal will be added to your bill.

Important: When using the Disney Dining Plan, you still need to make dining reservations, which are always highly recommended, especially for the more popular Table Service spots.
2-Credit Table Service Meals
While many locations require 1 credit, there are other locations that are 2 credits, which is important to pay attention to when utilizing the Disney Dining Plan.

Two Table-Service meals will be redeemed for each person dining at Fine/Signature Restaurants, select Character Dining Experiences, or a Dinner Show.

How do credits work?
You are allotted a select amount of credits based on each night of your reservation and depending on which plan you purchase.
For example…
- Disney Quick Service Dining Plan: If you book a 4-night package, each guest (ages 3 and up) in your party would receive 8 Quick Service meals and 4 Snacks or Non-alcoholic Beverages.
- Disney Dining Plan: If you book a 4-night package, each guest (ages 3 and up) in your party would receive 4 Table Service meals, 4 Quick Service meals, and 4 snacks or Non-alcoholic Beverages.

When it comes to using your credits, all you have to do is scan your MagicBand, MagicBand+, MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World Card where the Disney Dining Plan is accepted. Then, the credits will automatically be deducted.
Your Disney Dining Plan is activated as soon as you check in (online, via the My Disney Experience app, or at the front desk of your hotel). Yes, this includes if you check in before the official check-in time of 3 p.m. Your credits will be accessible until midnight of your check-out day.
To keep track of your credits, all you have to do is one of the following:
- Check the My Disney Experience app (find your resort reservation and you should see a Dining Plan section)
- Check your credit balance at the bottom of your most recent dining receipt
- You can also visit the front desk or any Guest Relations location to ask for your remaining credit balance
To know if an item counts as a Snack credit, just look for the purple and white Disney Dining Plan icon on a Disney World menu:

Because credits are loaded all at once onto your account, you can use as many or as little as you want per day. Disney also states that meals and snacks are non-transferable between party members.
How do you get the most out of your Disney Dining Plan?
In order to get the most out of your Disney Dining Plan, you need to try to maximize your credits. Basically, you want to make sure you purchase food that costs close to what the credits are worth.
- Quick Service credits: worth about $25
- Table Service credits: worth about $60
- Snack credits: worth about $7
This means, in order to make sure you break even/get your money’s worth you need to spend at least $25 on each Quick Service meal, at least $60 on each Table Service meal, and at least $7 on each snack.
There’s a chance you will run out of credits or leave with leftover credits.
Regarding the latter, credits don’t roll over. Once your trip is done, you will lose the value of any credits you didn’t use.
Is the Disney Dining Plan worth it?
To really decide if the Disney Dining Plan is worth it or not, you definitely need to do some research and calculations. You should try to figure out where you want to eat (make sure the restaurant offers the Dining Plan), estimate what you would spend on average for food each day (and for the entirety of a trip), and then compare those numbers to the price of the Dining Plan.
If what you will probably spend on average for food without the Dining Plan is close to the cost of the Dining Plan, then the Dining Plan is probably worth it. If not, you should rethink adding it onto your vacation package.
The Disney Dining plan can also be great for those who don’t want to worry about what they’re spending on food while they’re at Disney World.
Knowing what you’re paying for food ahead of time could make your trip less stressful. It also gives an “all-inclusive” feeling that many people enjoy when going on vacation.
Determining if the dining plan is worth it depends on multiple factors, but what it essentially comes down to is math. It will be worth it to some guests, while others won’t find it beneficial.
