Wailulu Bar & Grill is a new dining option at Walt Disney World. The bar and grill officially opened on December 17, 2024 at the Island Tower of Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.
The Island Tower is a new Disney Vacation Club destination that also opened on December 17 inspired by the islands of Bora Bora, Hawai’i, Samoa, and Fiji. Plus, you’ll see different nods to Moana.

I was lucky enough to dine at the bar and grill on February 8, 2025 with my family. Here is my review of Wailulu Bar & Grill. Spoiler: I will be back!

What is Wailulu Bar & Grill?
Wailulu Bar & Grill gets its name from the Hawaiian words wai (“water”) and lulu (“calm”).
Throughout the restaurant, you’ll see Polynesian-inspired artwork, including pieces crafted by recycled materials and reclaimed fishing nets.

The menu features dishes inspired by the flavors of Polynesia with influences from Easter Island and New Zealand to Fiji and Guam.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating. If you choose to sit outside, you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning views of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Plus, at night, you can see fireworks from Magic Kingdom!

As of December 3, 2025, Wailulu Bar & Grill accepts reservations. You can also join a walk-up list. If there aren’t any tables or bar seating available upon arrival, you can either add your name to the list in person or in the My Disney Experience app.

If you choose to add your name in the app, you have to be somewhat close to the restaurant in order to join the walk-up list.
During my February 8 visit, I joined the walk-up list in the app around 2 p.m. and my family of four only waited about 10 minutes.
It does get very busy here at night due to the fireworks. According to our server, people will start to arrive around 6:30 p.m. or so and linger until fireworks.

The music is also piped in for diners. If you want to watch the fireworks, while enjoying food and drinks, you need to plan accordingly.
If there is open seating at the bar, you can sit there without having to put your name on the list.
Wailulu Bar & Grill also has mobile ordering, which you can find in the My Disney Experience app under “Wailulu Bar & Grill To Go”.

You can mobile order from the full menu for lunch and dinner and then pick it up at the restaurant.
Keep in mind that you don’t have to be staying at the Polynesian to dine-in at Wailulu Bar & Grill, but it’s important to note that sometimes Disney World can be strict about letting in non-resort guests unless they have dining reservations.
If you drive yourself or use rideshare, there’s a chance the security guard at the entrance won’t let you in to park or be dropped off, especially if you don’t have a reservation for Wailulu. If you use Disney World transportation (take a bus, the monorail, or a boat), there won’t be any issue.

We used rideshare and got dropped off at the Polynesian without any issue (we didn’t have a dining reservation). We then walked over to Wailulu Bar & Grill from the Great Ceremonial House. It’s only about a 5-minute walk.
I decided to have our rideshare take us to the Polynesian versus the Island Tower, because I wasn’t sure if they’d be stricter at the Island Tower since it’s newer. We had no issue grabbing a rideshare from the Island Tower back to our hotel.
How much does Wailulu Bar & Grill cost?
Pricing varies at Wailulu Bar & Grill, but entrees for lunch and dinner range from $18.00 to $33.00, while kids’ meals range between $10.50 and $12.50. You’ll also need to factor in if you want additional items, like appetizers, desserts, or alcoholic beverages.
For breakfast, specialty coffees and grab-and-go pastries are available for purchase.

If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it is accepted here during lunch, dinner, and breakfast (1 Table Service credit per person for lunch and dinner and Snack Credits during breakfast). The dining plan also is available when utilizing Wailulu Bar & Grill To Go.
Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members do not receive a discount.
Here’s a look at the Wailulu Bar & Grill menu. This will give you a better understanding of what is available and how much food and drink items cost. There are also allergy-friendly options (be sure to speak with a Cast Member).

Wailulu Bar & Grill Review
We started our meal with some alcoholic beverages. My mom ordered the beautiful Passion Fruit and Pineapple Daiquiri for $15.50.
The daiquiri comes with Ten to One Caribbean White Rum, Minute Maid passion fruit orange guava juice, pineapple, and lime.

Not only is this drink pretty in appearance, but it’s a more upscale daiquiri than I had initially envisioned. While our server described it as on the “sweeter” side, my mom and I found it to be much more tart. That said, it was delicious.
My sister, my dad, and myself all ordered one of our favorite beers — the Terrapin Luau Krunkles Passionfruit-Orange-Guava IPA for $11.25.

I order this beer anytime I visit Tambu Lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It’s one of my favorite IPAs. It has the perfect amount of hops, while also being citrusy.
We, of course, had to order the plant-based Sweet Potato Hummus as an appetizer. For $12.00, you get sweet potato hummus topped with crispy chickpeas and Espelette pepper dust served with breadfruit tostones.

I loved everything about this, except for not getting enough breadfruit tostones. The hummus to tostones ratio is definitely off.
For my entree, I ordered the plant-based Grilled Tofu Poke Bowl that comes with sushi-style rice, pickled cucumbers, vegetables, spicy poke sauce, macadamia nuts, and grilled tofu.
As you can see below, you get a lot for $22.00. I was afraid the sauce would be too spicy, but it wasn’t at all. I don’t handle heat well, so I’m glad there was only a slight amount of spice.

The grilled tofu wasn’t mushy by any means, but the crunch of the macadamia nuts and vegetables balanced out the texture of the tofu.
My sister ordered the plant-based Grilled Tofu Chow Mein Salad. I had a few bites and this was so good. It’s massive for $18.00 and comes with charred cabbage, shishito peppers, hearts of palm and pickled sweet potato.

The salad is topped with the most unique and absolutely delicious sunflower butter dressing. While I truly enjoyed the poke bowl, I liked the salad a little bit more.
Finally, dessert. We shared the prettiest plant-based Dole Whip Sundae with pineapple Dole Whip, hibiscus meringue, and macerated pineapple and berries. This costs $8.00.

Yes, you can easily grab pineapple Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom, but the hibiscus meringue and macerated fruit elevates the dessert. Plus, you get a fun Mickey-shaped meringue on top!
Is Wailulu Bar & Grill worth it?
Wailulu Bar & Grill is absolutely worth a visit. I’m all about a good lounge at Walt Disney World and this one definitely hits the mark.
First, it’s beautiful. I love that the bar has both indoor and outdoor seating. The overall vibe of the restaurant is super chill and relaxing. I could easily sit here for hours indulging in the view, food, and drinks.

Second, the food is beyond delicious. I love that it’s fresh and doesn’t feel heavy, especially after a long park day. Not to mention, the dishes are vibrant and have stunning presentation.
For a bar and lounge at a Deluxe hotel on Disney World property, I think the pricing makes sense. The portions are huge and easily shareable, as well. You’re getting high-quality food for a reasonable price.

As a vegetarian, I couldn’t be more pleased with Wailulu. I’m still dreaming about the hummus, poke bowl, salad, and Dole Whip.
Overall, Wailulu Bar & Grill is a fantastic addition to the new Island Tower at the Polynesian. It’s a great place to visit after a park day, if you’re staying at the hotel, or if you need a break from Magic Kingdom.
Yes, I will be back for more goodness and relaxation.
