I’ve made it no secret the immense love I have for BaseLine Tap House in Hollywood Studios.
The bar on Grand Avenue (next to Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant) offers California-based beverages and small bites.

It’s one of my favorite places to visit and relax at Walt Disney World. From the food, to the vibe, to, of course, the beer, BaseLine Tap House has no flaws.
Here are 5 reasons to visit BaseLine Tap House. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
4 Reasons to Visit BaseLine Tap House
1. The Drinks
If you’re a beer lover, like myself, you can’t skip BaseLine Tap House. You can try a range of California beers.

My personal favorite is the Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA. You can order a 16 oz. ($11.75) or a 20 oz. ($12.50). I always get the latter, because the more beer, the better.
Beer flights are also available, which is a great way to try a variety of beverages on tap. You can pick four 5 oz. pours (you can even get two of the same, if you’d like) for $14.50.

If you’re not into beer, you can find several other options, like wine, specialty cocktails (including a margarita), a range of spirits if you’d rather have a traditional cocktail, and specialty non-alcoholic beverages (like a Strawberry Hibiscus Soda).
As of October 2024, I’m sad to report you can no longer order the Ace Space Bloody Orange Hard Cider. Ace Cider went out of business, which means “Mike’s Mix” is no more.

This was an original concoction created by one of the bartenders combining Ace Space Bloody Orange Hard Cider and Golden Road Hefeweizen.
There is a new cider on tap — Coronado Brewing Co. Superfruit Hard Cider. This is a semi-sweet, fruit forward cider made with blueberries.
2. The Pretzel
There are a variety of soft pretzels across Disney World, but BaseLine has one of the best.

The Bavarian Pretzel comes with beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard for $12.00. This is great for sharing.
Both the cheese and mustard are delicious. The pretzel itself is vegan, not to mention pretty much perfect and pairs well with a beverage.
3. The Cheese Board
If you love cheese, you need to try BaseLine’s California and Cheese Charcuterie Plate for $14.00.
It features: Point Reyes Original Blue Cheese, Mt Tam Brie, Midnight Moon Goat Cheese, Sopressata Salami, sliced bresaola, blueberry compote, onion jam, and bread and butter pickles with lavash.

If you’re vegetarian, like myself, you can order the board without meat! All you have to do is ask and they’ll replace the meat with more cheese. This is such a great deal for $14.00.
I do wish they served more lavash (and still had toasted baguettes, like they did on the old board).

This new cheese board debuted in April 2025. The old cheese board (as seen above), included: Toma Farmstead Cheese, Point Reyes Original Blue Cheese, Laura Chenel’s Sonoma Goat Cheese, chorizo, and Calabrese salami, cornichons, grapes, and toasted baguettes.
I loved the former cheese board, but the new one is still delicious.
FYI: A lot of cheese is made with animal rennet, but I’m not as strict with cheese. As always, be sure to double check or simply avoid if this is a concern of yours.
4. The Chips
In April 2025, BaseLine Tap House added Avenue Chips to its snack menu. For $7.00, you get house-made salt and vinegar kettle chips served with beer-cheese fondue.

I’m a sucker for house-made chips. I don’t think I’ve ever had homemade salt and vinegar chips, but I really enjoyed these.
The seasoning wasn’t too strong, which made for a delicious pairing with the cheese fondue.
5. The Atmosphere
BaseLine Tap House’s atmosphere is truly fantastic, especially thanks to the music. Covers of popular songs are played, but they’re unique, relaxing, and a whole vibe.

BaseLine Tap House embodies an industrial buzz of modern-day Downtown Los Angeles. As detailed by Disney, the interior of the tap house “pays homage to the Figueroa Printing Company — a mom-and-pop print house that once enjoyed a flourishing partnership with Disney Studios.”

There is both indoor and outdoor seating. While indoor seating is limited, there are plenty of tables outside with umbrellas. You can also take your drink around the corner to the outdoor tables at ABC Commissary.
Before BaseLine became what many know and love today, it was the old Writer’s Stop. The bar even pays tribute to the former location. If you look above the bar, there are letters on the shelves that spell out “Writer’s Stop”.
