Seats & Sweets Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom (price, desserts, review, and more)

If you stress about watching fireworks at Magic Kingdom, you may want to consider booking a dessert party.

The nighttime spectacular draws in a huge crowd. There is only one fireworks showing each night (if the weather cooperates, of course), so it’s always going to be busy.

I love watching the fireworks, especially Happily Ever After (it’s the best Disney World nighttime show and no one can tell me otherwise), but if there is a way for me to avoid the crowd as much as I can and not have to save a spot two hours ahead of time, I’ll most likely do it.

Enter Magic Kingdom dessert parties. One of the main reasons people book them is to relieve the stress of saving a spot for the fireworks. All three dessert parties at Magic Kingdom come with reserved fireworks viewing.

But, they are far from cheap, especially the Seats & Sweets dessert party. The following review is from June 19, 2024. Let’s go over whether or not Seats & Sweets is worth it, the price, what kind of desserts you get, and more.

You can book online or in the My Disney Experience app. Be sure to book as soon as you can, because reservations for the dessert parties fill up very quickly.

Can you cancel Seats & Sweets?

Yes, you can cancel Seats & Sweets.

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy, meaning the full price of the event will be charged/forfeited if you cancel within one day or fail to show up for the reservation.

Reservation modifications for Seats & Sweets also aren’t allowed.

How do you check in for Seats & Sweets?

Your check-in time will be 60 minutes prior to the fireworks.

For example, on June 19, 2024, Happily Ever After was scheduled for 9:20 p.m., meaning my reservation time for Seats & Sweets was 8:20 p.m.

When it comes to checking in, I recommend arriving much earlier than your check-in time (anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes before the check-in time given if you want first dibs on a table and desserts).

For this particular reservation, they started letting us in at 7:45 p.m. (35 minutes before official check-in time). Before that, they gave us wristbands while we waited to speed up the check-in process.

Once you’re checked in, a Cast Member will lead you to a table and place a “Reserved” sign on the table so other guests know that table is taken. You can ask the Cast Member for a particular table, but only one that has the exact number of chairs needed. For example, a party of three can’t take a table set for five. The Cast Members set up the tables and chairs based on the reservations for that particular evening.

If your table and view is important to you, the earlier you arrive, the better. When it comes to checking in, you’ll want to head over towards the famous Purple Wall.

You’ll line up along the ramp that leads into Tomorrowland Terrace.

What is seating like for Seats & Sweets?

Here is what the seating area looks like for Seats & Sweets. Everyone is respectful and remains seated when the fireworks start, as well.

Sometimes the tables will be pushed up next to the railings, as seen here:

And here:

During my June 19, 2024 dessert party, the tables were pushed back:

I think this had to do with the rain earlier in the day. Either way, people were allowed to bring their chairs up close to the railing, but had to remain seated as not to block anyone.

There really isn’t a bad table, but I personally prefer to sit in the area closer to the railing near where you enter the dessert party.

Why? It’s the perfect spot to watch as Tinker Bell flies directly over you! It makes the show even that more amazing.

Know that once the fireworks end, you’re allowed to finish any desserts and drinks you have at your table. They don’t rush you out of Tomorrowland Terrace.

What kind of desserts does Seats & Sweets offer?

Desserts are served as soon as you’re able to sit down. They stop serving treats five minutes after the fireworks end.

What is the fireworks view like from Tomorrowland Terrace?

You’re obviously not going to get the best view of the nighttime spectacular from Tomorrowland Terrace.

Trees are blocking Cinderella Castle and you’re farther away from the castle, meaning the projections aren’t clear.

That said, you get a fantastic view of the fireworks — and a different angle compared to watching from directly in front of the castle. I think this is the best seat in the house to watch the fireworks. They are so much better!

Better yet, sitting at Tomorrowland Terrace for Happily Ever After allows you to experience Tinker Bell’s flight in a whole new way. If you sit at a table near where you check in, she literally flies right over you!

If you love the projections or if this is your first time seeing the fireworks, Seats & Sweets might not be for you.

Important: The Tomorrowland Terrace lights do remain on during the fireworks, meaning it won’t be completely dark.

Will Seats & Sweets be canceled if there’s bad weather?

As Disney makes clear, “Fireworks are not guaranteed as part of this experience; on rare occasions, evening fireworks may be rescheduled or cancelled.”

If that happens, more often than not, Disney tries to accommodate guests as best they can. It depends on the situation, but if fireworks are cancelled, there’s a chance you could receive a full refund for the dessert party. But, again, this will depend on the situation and Cast Member you speak with.

In the event fireworks are cancelled and you booked a dessert party, I would chat with Guest Relations to see how they can accommodate you.

How does Seats & Sweets compare to the other dessert parties?

In addition to Seats & Sweets, there are two other Magic Kingdom dessert parties that cost less and have a different reserved viewing area.

plaza garden viewing for pre-party and post-party fireworks dessert party

Here’s a breakdown, so you can get a better understanding of what these include and if they’d be better options for you.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party: Pre-Party

  • Pre-Party: enjoy desserts and drinks at Tomorrowland Terrace (same desserts and drinks as Seats & Sweets; a different seating area than Seats & Sweets) before the fireworks begin
  • Check-in time: 90 minutes before fireworks
  • Reserved viewing area: Plaza Garden (standing-room only)
  • Price (varies by date): Range from $99 to $109 (per adult, ages 10 and up; tax included); $59 (per child, ages 3 to 9; tax included)
  • Make reservations: Book the Pre-Party online or in the My Disney Experience app

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party: Post-Party

  • Pre-Party: enjoy desserts and drinks at Tomorrowland Terrace (same desserts and drinks as Seats & Sweets; a different seating area than Seats & Sweets) after the fireworks conclude
  • Check-in time: 60 minutes before fireworks
  • Reserved viewing area: Plaza Garden (standing-room only)
  • Price (varies by date): Range from $99 to $109 (per adult, ages 10 and up; tax included); $59 (per child, ages 3 to 9; tax included)
  • Make reservations: Book the Post-Party online or in the My Disney Experience app

Out of these two, I prefer the Post-Party, because you get first pick of where you want to stand to watch the fireworks and get to enjoy the dessert party as everyone else is making their way out of the park after fireworks. The latter means you get to avoid massive crowds and lines for transportation.

I recommend arriving anywhere from 3o to 45 minutes before the check-in time given if you want first dibs on desserts and/or a viewing spot.

Is the Seats & Sweets fireworks dessert party worth it?

The Seats & Sweets dessert party isn’t for everyone. It’s expensive and doesn’t technically offer the best view of Cinderella Castle.

beer at magic kingdom seats and sweets fireworks dessert party

Let’s go over the pros and cons…

Pros

  • Reserved viewing
  • Don’t have to save a spot hours in advance
  • Get to sit and watch the fireworks
  • Enjoy desserts and drinks (including alcohol)
  • Relaxing and enjoyable way to watch fireworks without massive crowds

Cons

  • Expensive, especially for families
  • Not the most ideal view of Cinderella Castle (projections are difficult to see)
  • Tomorrowland Terrace lights remain on during fireworks
  • Desserts aren’t anything to rave about (overall, average)

If you’re looking into booking Seats & Sweets, it really depends on your budget and the type of experience you’re looking for when it comes to fireworks. I, personally, love Seats & Sweets. It isn’t something I book all the time, but it makes for a nice treat every now and again, like if it’s a special occasion.
