We wants the rum!
Disney Cruise Line is known for its Pirate Night. While not every sailing has one, if your itinerary includes Pirate Night, I encourage you to participate. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out.
I’m here to talk about Pirate Night on the Disney Wish. Let’s see what the evening involves, from dinner, to shows, and, most importantly, fireworks!

What is Pirate Night on the Disney Cruise Line?
Typically, Pirate Night on the Disney Cruise Line is offered on many Bahamian, Caribbean, and Bermudan sailings.

It usually happens once per sailing and includes a special dinner, characters in pirate attire, pirate-themed entertainment, and fireworks!
What night is Pirate Night on the Disney Wish?
What night Pirate Night is on the Disney Wish depends on the length of your cruise.
- 3-night cruise on the Disney Wish: Pirate Night usually the second night
- 4-night cruise on the Disney Wish: Pirate Night is usually the third night
Be sure to check your sailing’s itinerary in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to confirm.
Pirate Night dinner on the Disney Wish
Pirate Night dinner on the Disney Wish takes place in one of the main dining rooms: 1923, Worlds of Marvel, or Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure.

No matter where your Pirate Night dinner is, everyone is served the same menu — a special Pirate Night menu. Like all of the other rotational dining, this meal is included in the price of your cruise.
The special entertainment at the restaurants will not happen on Pirate Night. You are served a normal dinner. Don’t worry, no matter your seating time, you won’t miss the shows and fireworks.
Important: If you’re on a 3-night cruise, there won’t be a special Pirate Night menu, so guests can experience each main restaurant, the themes, entertainment, and the standard menus.
Here’s the Pirate Night dinner menu from my February 2024 Disney Wish cruise (I dined at Worlds of Marvel):

During my Pirate Night dinner, I started with bread service. There was a basket of rolls, along with Johnny Cakes.
If you like corn bread, you’ll like Johnny Cakes. They were very good.

There was also a mango dip for the bread service. I enjoyed this, but it was a unique pairing. It didn’t go that well with the Johnny Cakes, but it was fine with the regular rolls. There was also butter on the table for those who didn’t care for the mango dip.

For my appetizer, I went with Sri Sumbhajee’s Vegetable Samosa. This was filled with potato peas, garlic, cumin, and ginger and served with tamarind and mint chutney.
I love samosas and this did not disappoint. It was definitely on the spicier side, so if you can’t handle heat, I don’t recommend ordering this.

I ended up ordering both entrees, because they sounded so good.
First, let’s talk about the Barbary Coast Falafel. This was made with fried ground cumin chickpeas and spiced vegetables topped with a drizzle of mint yogurt.

Overall, the falafel was delicious. You definitely have to be a fan of falafel in order to like this. They were a tad on the drier side, but the red sauce served with them (like a tomato sauce) helped with the dryness.
My next entree was the Shanghaied Noodle Stir-fry, which was dairy-free. This came with egg noodles with nori, edamame beans, white soy sauce, marinated tofu, scallions, peppers, carrots, and sesame seeds.

I absolutely loved this stir-fry. It was light, fresh, and not oily at all. The ingredients complemented each other well. I would order this again.
Finally, for dessert, I went with the Caramel Macadamia Nut Cheesecake Tart served with whipped cream and caramel ganache. This was hands-down the best dessert I had during my entire cruise.

Cheesecake is my favorite dessert, so this certainly didn’t disappoint. Then, when you add in the caramel and the macadamia nuts, well, this was unbelievable. I’m still dreaming of it.
Pirate Night shows on the Disney Wish
There are two Pirate Night shows on the Disney Wish that take place on Deck 11’s stage. Don’t worry, no matter your dinner time, you will be able to see both.
The first show of the night is “Mickey and Minnie’s Pirates in the Caribbean” party. The show features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy in their pirate costumes, along with their “pirate crew”.
You also get to see Captain Hook and Smee. This is a very cute show that lasts about 15 minutes.

Then, after the second dinner ends, guests gather on Deck 11 for the “Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party”. If you only care about the fireworks, this is the show to attend.
A rock band plays as Captain Redd and other talent sing classic rock songs and dance. It’s pretty awesome and gets everyone amped before the fireworks begin. Captain Jack Sparrow also shows up by making quite the entrance.
With fireworks, this show is about 20 minutes.
Pirate Night fireworks on the Disney Wish
Following the Rockin’ Parlay Pirate Party, the fireworks begin over the water. When looking at the stage, fireworks will go off to your right.

It’s quite spectacular and magical to be able to watch fireworks from a cruise ship, all while set to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme.
I recommend arriving somewhat early, because space fills up quickly. If you’re with a group of adults, you can stand on Deck 13, the adult-only area, for a really great view. I watched from here during my February 2024 cruise and it was perfect.

You should definitely check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for official times. During my cruise, the show started around 10:15 p.m, with fireworks going off at about 10:30 p.m.
Keep in mind that if you’re traveling with little ones, this will be a late night for them.
Does Disney Wish give out bandanas for Pirate Night?
Yes! Finally! Aren’t they cute? Stateroom attendants will place them in your room.

The Disney Wish only started giving out bandanas for Pirate Night as of early February 2024. Prior to this, if guests wanted a pirate bandana, they had to bring their own.
Other Disney Cruise ships also provide pirate bandanas for Pirate Night.
What do people wear on Pirate Night on a Disney cruise?
What makes Pirate Night so fun is guests really get into it. There are some people who are fully dressed in costumes, whereas others are more mild in their pirate attire.
Some guests don’t wear anything pirate-themed and that’s totally fine. Dressing up for Pirate Night is not a requirement.

But, if you do dress up for Pirate Night (or during a themed cruise and onboard celebration), Disney Cruise Line asks guests to wear costumes that are “family friendly, not obstructive, objectionable, offensive, or violent.”
You’re also not allowed to bring “toys or props that resemble guns, knives, or other related implements.” If you wear a mask that completely covers your face, these “may only be worn when standing still at character photo locations and must be carried when moving around the ship.”
You can also dress up as your favorite character, but you cannot “pose for pictures or sign autographs.”
Which characters appear during Pirate Night on a Disney Cruise?
Outside of the shows, you can usually meet characters during Pirate Night on a Disney Cruise (and in pirate attire).

Some of these characters may include Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Captain Hook, and Smee.

Be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for characters and their meet and greet times.
