If you’re looking for free unlimited refills at Walt Disney World, you may want to purchase a Disney refillable mug.
Resort-refillable mugs at Disney World can be purchased at Disney World hotels. You can buy these individually or they come with both of the available dining plans.
While free unlimited refills probably sound great, there’s a lot you need to know about Disney refillable mugs, including who they benefit and if they are worth the additional cost.
Here’s what you need to know about refillable mugs at Disney World.

What are refillable mugs at Disney World?
The resort-refillable mugs at Disney World are exactly what they sound like — mugs you can refill during your trip.

You pay one price for the 16 oz. insulated mug and then get unlimited refills on fountain drinks, coffee, tea (iced and hot), and hot chocolate for the duration of your stay (up to 14 days). If you’re staying longer than 14 days, ask a Cast Member if they can extend the use.
The mugs even have fun Disney designs and different color lids, which helps everyone keep track of their respective mug.
Where can you buy a Disney refillable mug?
The Disney refillable mugs are available for purchase at Disney World hotels. You can typically find them inside the main Quick Service areas, like at the food courts.
Sometimes you’ll even see mugs at the gift shops. For example, Pop Century’s Everything Pop Shopping and Dining has refillable mugs near the gift shop registers prior to entering the food court area.
How do the refillable mugs work at Disney World?
Once you’ve picked out your refillable mug, you’ll take it to the Cast Member at the register so you can pay for it and have it activated.
Then, all you have to do is set down your mug directly underneath the fountain drink you want and press “Push”. You’ll hear a magical sound as your choice of beverage fills up the mug. Sadly, there isn’t a magical sound if you get coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

You can only use the refillable mugs at self-serve beverage stations at Disney World hotels.
There are other 24/7 self-serve beverage station near select pool bars (the Petals Pool Bar at Pop Century, The Drop Off Pool Bar at Art of Animation, and Banana Cabana at Caribbean Beach), so keep your eyes peeled!

How often can you refill your Disney mug?
Each refillable mug has an RFID bar code, which is what enables the mug to be both activated and deactivated.
While refills are unlimited during your stay, you’ll have to briefly wait between each one (about 2 to 3 minutes).
Can you bring refillable mugs back to Disney World?

Which Disney dining plan includes a refillable mug?
Refillable mugs are included with the purchase of the currently available Disney dining plans:

Both of these plans include one resort-refillable drink mug for each person utilizing the dining plan.
Are the refillable mugs at Disney World worth it?
This depends on the individual/group using them. If you or your party know you’ll purchase a lot of fountain drinks, coffee, and tea at the hotel during your vacation, then, yes, a refillable mug is probably for you.
For someone like myself, a refillable mug doesn’t benefit me. Typically, I only drink water, coffee, and beer at Disney World.

Let’s say I booked a 5-night trip and only got coffee once per day (like I normally do during my Disney World visits). This would cost me a total of $22.85 (with tax). With a resort-refillable mug priced at $24.48 (with tax), I wouldn’t really lose money by buying one, since the mug would only set me back $1.63.
I definitely recommend doing the math to see if you’ll really save any money with a resort-refillable Disney mug.
