Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast — Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends — is one of the most popular character meals at Walt Disney World.

This is considered a more upscale character dining experience located on a rooftop with gorgeous views. Sounds pretty great, right? But is it as good as everyone says? More importantly, is it worth your time and money?

I recently dined here and certainly have some opinions. Whether those are good or bad, you’ll have to keep reading to find out.

The following review of Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast is from when I dined here on June 17, 2024 with my family.

What is Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera?

Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera is a rooftop Table Service restaurant at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

The Deluxe Resort hotel embodies both Disney details and European style. Overall, the resort celebrates Walt Disney’s travels and time in Europe, along with his love of the French Riviera and Italian Riviera.

Topolino’s Terrace is inspired by the cliffside restaurants of France and Italy. Fun fact: “Mickey Mouse” is known as “Topolino” in Italian, hence the name Topolino’s Terrace.

There are two different dining experiences at Topolino’s Terrace. First, is the character breakfast, which runs from 7:30 a.m. until 12:15 a.m. A Signature Dining dinner experience featuring elevated French- and Italian-inspired cuisine is also hosted here from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Characters only appear during Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends, including Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, and Donald in some of the cutest and most unique outfits inspired by the resort and restaurant. Breakfast is more informal, whereas dinner requires a dress code.

At night, you can even watch EPCOT’s fireworks from the rooftop (yes, the music from the nighttime spectacular is pumped in). As for breakfast, which is what I’m here to discuss, the rooftop daytime views are just as spectacular.

Dining reservations can be difficult to snag here, so I highly recommend booking them as soon as you can.

  • TipReservations are always recommended for any Table Service restaurant at Walt Disney World. You can make these at the 60-day mark online or via the My Disney Experience app beginning at 5:45 a.m. ET (sometimes they don’t open until 6 a.m. ET). If you have issues, call (407) WDW-DINE. If you can’t get a reservation, you can always use a Disney dining reservation alert service, like MouseDining. If you can’t get a reservation, you can try to join the Walk-Up List for the restaurant (if available) in the My Disney Experience app.

How much does Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast cost?

  • It’s important to note that prices and menus frequently change at Walt Disney World. The following is based on my most recent visit.

Excluding tax and gratuity, Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast costs $49 per adult and $30 per child (ages 9 and under). You’ll also need to factor in if you want additional items, like alcoholic and zero-proof beverages.

A prix-fixe menu is offered here, meaning adults and kids will choose one entree. Kids entrees also come with with two sides. Fresh pastries and bread are also served at the start of the meal. Allergy-friendly options are available, as well.

If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it is accepted here (1 Table Service credit per person for breakfast and 2 Table Service credits per person for dinner). Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members also receive 10% off the regular price of food and non-alcoholic beverages (excluding tax and gratuity).

FYI: If you miss a character for some reason, be sure to tell your server or the character attendant. Usually, they will even check with you to verify you’ve met each character.

For example, after we had finished our meal and were ready to pay, we told our server we never met Donald. She told us not to leave until we met him, which we eventually did after a short wait.

Do characters sign autographs at Topolino’s Terrace?

Yes, all characters sign autographs at Topolino’s Terrace! You’ll even be given this adorable autograph card to take home.

Topolino’s Terrace Character Breakfast Review

It’s clear why Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast is so popular. From the environment, to the rooftop views, to the character interactions, to the menu, you definitely get your money’s worth.

We started our meal with a pot of Joffrey’s coffee, which is included in the price of your meal. Juice (including POG juice!), water, and soft drinks are also included with your meal.

If you want a non-alcoholic or alcoholic specialty beverage, you will have to pay extra.

Breakfast begins with fresh pastries served in the most adorable and perfectly-themed artist palette-inspired dish. Also, do you see the hidden Mickey?

Our pastries included croissants, mini-chocolate chip muffins, and cinnamon muffins. Everything was good, but I liked the croissants best, especially with the house-made jam and honey butter. You can also slather on chocolate-hazelnut mousse, if you’d like.

I tried to not fill up too much on pastries before my breakfast entree arrived, which was hard to do. For breakfast, I ordered the Wild Mushroom Scramble. This came with spinach, plant-based eggs, plant-based sausage, and tomatoes.

You can also order the Wild Mushroom Scramble with regular eggs, but I tried the full plant-based version. It was delicious! It might not look like a lot of food in this photo, but it was a huge breakfast (at least for me). I was stuffed by the end of the meal.

Oh — and the roasted potatoes? I could eat an entire plate. They were heaven.

As a vegetarian, I love that Topolino’s Terrace features plant-based sausage as a side along with smoked bacon, ham, and sausage. Usually, most restaurants offer fruit as a replacement, but I love that a veg-friendly protein is an option.

Topolino’s is also great at accommodating diets. For example, my sister ordered the Avocado Toast, but asked for no prosciutto, which they were happy to do.

The avocado toast also came with a poached egg, toy box tomatoes, fennel, harissa vinaigrette, and ciabatta. My sister enjoyed this.

As for the characters, they are fantastic. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy didn’t disappoint. They were beyond interactive, fun, and took their time at our table. Plus, you can’t meet them anywhere else in these costumes that are beyond perfection.

During breakfast, all of the characters also take a moment to dance around the restaurant to an Italian song. It’s so cute and adds to the overall theme of the meal.

Breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace was great and I can’t wait to go back again to eat, meet the characters, and take in the breathtaking rooftop views.

Is Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast worth it?

Yes, Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast is absolutely worth it.

There are many great character buffets at Disney World (it’s no secret I’m a huge fan of Hollywood & Vine), but it’s also nice to attend a sit-down character meal. You can rest your feet, enjoy your food and drinks, and meet the characters as you do so.

Topolino’s doesn’t feel as hectic as a buffet. For many families, this is a huge bonus. You don’t have to worry about serving little ones yourself or running back and forth from your table to the buffet. It’s more relaxing, in a sense.

Of course, the characters costumes are also unbeatable. They are extremely unique. You can’t meet Mickey as a painter, Minnie as a poet, Donald as a sculptor, and Daisy as a dancer anywhere else.

Better yet, Topolino’s Terrace has some of the best views on property. At the end of your meal, I recommend going outside on the rooftop deck to take in your surroundings.

If you’re looking for more upscale character dining, breakfast Topolino’s Terrace is for you. I think you get a great experience and meal for a decent price.
