1900 Park Fare has seen some changes over the years, but continues to be a beloved character buffet for many.
I had never eaten here until recently. I went in excited to try the character meal for dinner, especially the chance to meet Princess Tiana in an updated costume and try the popular strawberry soup.

What is 1900 Park Fare?
1900 Park Fare is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. You can meet characters during both breakfast and dinner, where an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet is served.

The sit-down restaurant takes guests back to the early 20th century and features carousel theming, whimsical décor, and Disney artwork.
Speaking of art, there are 12 portraits that were created by Disney artists exclusively for 1900 Park Fare. The pieces are inspired by the impressionist art style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each one features a different character as they hope, dream, and make a wish.

In an adjoining dining room, you can even see drawings of carousel animals inspired by films like Alice in Wonderland and The Little Mermaid.
You get to also meet some of the most beloved Disney characters at 1900 Park Fare, who are known for making wishes in their respective films. While the characters are subject to change, more than likely, you’ll meet Mirabel from Encanto, Aladdin in his Prince Ali outfit, Cinderella in her blue ball gown, and Princess Tiana (in her Tiana’s Bayou Adventure outfit) from The Princess and the Frog.

And, last but certainly not least, don’t forget to look for “Big Bertha”, an antique organ that’s been at the Grand Floridian since 1988. You can see her on display as the grand centerpiece in the main dining room.
Be sure to book dining reservations as soon you can, since 1900 Park Fare is a more popular character meal location.

How much does 1900 Park Fare cost for dinner?
Excluding tax and gratuity, dinner at 1900 Park Fare costs $66 per adult and $41 per child (ages 3 to 9). If you order alcohol or a specialty beverage, it will cost extra.
A full buffet, including seafood, prime rib, chicken, an Impossible-based dish, salads, mashed potatoes, vegetables, desserts, the famous strawberry soup, and more are featured. An allergen guide is available upon arrival to the restaurant.
If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it is accepted here (1 Table Service credits per person for breakfast and dinner). Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members also receive 10% off the regular price of food and non-alcoholic beverages (excluding tax and gratuity).
Because this is a buffet, there isn’t a full food menu to share. However, I can share the drink menu.

Do characters sign autographs at 1900 Park Fare?
Yes, all characters sign autographs at 1900 Park Fare. You even get an adorable autograph card to take with you.

On the back of the autograph card is also a special place where you can write down your very own wish! The restaurant provides a pencil.
During the meal, you’ll hear an announcement from Jiminy Cricket, who guides you to hold your wish in the air and recite, “I wish my wish, as wish makers do, and believe in myself, to make it come true.”

This is actually a really touching and magical moment. It makes the meal all the more special.
1900 Park Fare Dinner Review
Overall, I really enjoyed dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I thought the buffet offerings were very good, unique in their own way, and also appreciated the many light and fresh options.

Some of the vegetarian dinner fare included:
- Impossible Merguez Sausage with Zucchini Noodles (plant-based)
- Mediterranean Kale Salad (plant-based)
- Couscous Salad with Dried Fruits, Almonds, Mint, and Parsley (plant-based)
- Grand Floridian Strawberry Soup with Fresh Strawberries and Whipped Cream
- Focaccia with Sun-dried Tomato and Herbs (plant-based)
- Mashed Potatoes
- Glazed Carrots (plant-based)
- Green Beans (plant-based)
I started my meal with the famous strawberry soup. I see why it’s so popular. It’s cold, not thick like a milk shake, and tastes like fresh strawberries. It’s lovely! You can also top the strawberry soup with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

Then, I grabbed some fresh fruit, a few of the salads, including the Mediterranean kale salad and couscous salad, and the focaccia with sun-dried tomato and herbs.
I liked the focaccia so much, I went back for a second piece! The salads made for a nice, light way to start my meal.

For my main plate, I grabbed some macaroni and cheese from the kids’ station (always a must-stop on a Disney buffet line), mashed potatoes, rice, green beans, glazed carrots, and the Impossible Merguez sausage with zucchini noodles.
This was all excellent. The highlights for me were the carrots, mashed potatoes (what is it about Disney mashed potatoes?), and macaroni and cheese. I liked the vegan merguez sausage and zucchini noodles, but it was super spicy. My mouth was on fire at one point. If you can’t handle heat, you should avoid.

Finally, I ended my meal with dessert. I tried a little of (most) everything. These were all tasty, but also nothing mind-blowing. My favorite was the lemon blueberry cheesecake.

There are two vegan as-is desserts: chocolate chip cookies and a toasted coconut cake with passion fruit custard and hibiscus cream. The cake was good, but also so tiny! I wish it would’ve been a bigger piece. Thankfully, since this is a buffet, you can grab as many as you’d like!
Is dinner at 1900 Park Fare worth it?
I think dinner at 1900 Park Fare is worth it. The character buffet might not be something you want to do every time, but I recommend trying it at least once during a visit.
First, the characters are absolutely wonderful. You get to meet a handful of more unique characters, including Aladdin in his Prince Ali outfit and Tiana in her Tiana’s Bayou Adventure costume! The characters also move around at a decent pace, while also taking their time.

Then, there is the food. It’s good, with both classic and rare items, like the strawberry soup. Even though the main plant-based savory dish is very spicy and the vegan toasted coconut cake is super small, I still enjoyed my dinner.
I also love the addition of the magical wish moment. It really brought the whole theme of the meal (wishes and characters known for making wishes) together.
Keep in mind that at the time of my visit on August 14, 2024, Annual Passholder, Disney Vacation Club, and Disney VISA discounts were not offered. This was definitely a con, but it didn’t impact my experience in a negative way. Hopefully, discounts will soon be offered at 1900 Park Fare.
