Geyser Point Review: Wilderness Lodge’s Bar is a Must Visit

There are many reasons to visit Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, including to eat and drink at Geyser Point Bar & Grill.

Just like the hotel, the poolside bar exudes a deluxe and rustic atmosphere. It’s a fantastic spot if you’re hanging at the pool, lounging during the day, taking a break from the parks, or want a late-night beverage.

I frequent Geyser Point often and can’t help but keep coming back, because it’s so darn good. Plus, you can’t beat the vibes and views. The following review is from my June 2024 trip, where I visited Geyser Point several times, since I stayed at Wilderness Lodge with my family.

What is Geyser Point?

Geyser Point sits along Bay Lake, so you can imagine the views both during the day and night. Yes, it’s both stunning and serene.

Speaking of nighttime views, you can watch the Electrical Water Pageant from Geyser Point. Does it get better than that?

Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for Wilderness Lodge’s showtime of the nostalgic floating nighttime parade across the water. Keep in mind weather can impact the Electrical Water Pageant. Sadly, it wasn’t running the night we tried to watch due to high winds.

In addition to being nestled along Bay Lake, Geyser Point is located near both pools (Copper Creek Springs Pool and Boulder Ridge Cove Pool).

But, if you want to dine at a table, you can do so in the open-air bar and lounge area. You cannot make reservations for Geyser Point. It is a walk-up only location. That said, there is a walk-up list you can join in the My Disney Experience app if Geyser Point is busy. You can also add your name to the list in person.

If you choose to add your name in the app, you have to be somewhat close to the restaurant in order to join the walk-up list. For example, you won’t be able to join from Magic Kingdom.

You can also just sit at the bar if there are open seats without adding your name to the walk-up list. Geyser Point can get busy, so be sure plan accordingly, especially at night. One evening, there was a 45-minute wait, so we just grabbed to-go drinks from the bar.

Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for hours, but usually Geyser Point opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m.

If you don’t want to wait for a table or are staying at Wilderness Lodge and would rather eat in your room, you can order food to go from Geyser Point. In the My Disney Experience app, there is “Geyser Point Bar & Grill To Go,” which is mobile order for the dining location.

You can mobile order from the full menu and then pick it up at the to-go counter by the restaurant.

There is also a walk-up window, if you don’t want to mobile order. Right next where you can get grab and go orders, there’s a fountain drink station. You can use your Disney World refillable mugs here.

You don’t have to be staying at Wilderness Lodge to try Geyser Point, but it’s important to note that sometimes Disney World can be strict about letting in non-resort guests unless they have dining reservations.

If you drive yourself or use rideshare, there’s a chance the security guard at the entrance won’t let you in to park or be dropped off, especially since Geyser Point doesn’t take reservations. If you use Disney World transportation (take a bus or a boat), there won’t be any issue.

During this particular review, I was staying at Wilderness Lodge, so I didn’t have any issue dining at Geyser Point.

How much does Geyser Point cost?

  • It’s important to note that prices and menus frequently change at Walt Disney World. The following is based on my most recent visit.

Pricing varies at Geyser Point, but small bites range from $5.00 to $18.00 and entrees range from $16.00 to $23.00. Kids’ meals range between $7.79 and $9.00. When it comes to cost, you’ll need to factor in if you want additional items, like desserts or alcoholic beverages.

If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it is accepted here and Geyser Point Bar & Grill To Go (1 Table Service credit per person). Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members do not receive a discount.

Here’s a look at the Geyser Point menu. This will give you a better understanding of what is available and how much food and drink items cost. There are also allergy-friendly options.

Geyser Point Review

If you can’t tell already, Geyser Point is one of my favorite places to eat, drink, and relax at Disney World.

No matter the visit, I always order a Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA, which isn’t exclusive to the bar and grill. You can get it at several places at Disney World. But, I’m a hazy IPA fan and, if you are too, you definitely need to grab this. You can also order it at my favorite Hollywood Studios bar — BaseLine Tap House.

When it comes to food, the plant-based Macaroni & “Cheese” Bites are a must. Whether you need a snack, a starter, or want to make them your meal, you can’t go wrong with these.

You get several big pieces for $11.00. The bites are also served with tomatoes and peppers, which serve as a nice accompaniment. These are perfectly fried, crispy, and “cheesy”.

Sometimes vegan cheese isn’t the best, but Geyser Point outdid itself with these Macaroni & “Cheese” Bites. Even if you’re not vegan, you will most likely love them.

For an entree, the Vegetable Burger is one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had at Disney World. It comes with spicy slaw, pepper jack “cheese”, lettuce, and tomato. You can also choose between homemade chips or fries as your side. Both are excellent.

Thanks to the slaw and “cheese”, this is on the spicier side. If you can’t handle heat, you should probably avoid.

While this does cost $20.00 (yes, that’s kind of pricey for a vegetable burger), it’s a bit more elevated compared to other vegan burgers on property.

Plus, you have to remember that you’re paying a bar and lounge price rather than an average Quick Service location price.

I don’t think you can go wrong with whatever you order at Geyser Point.

I haven’t had a bad meal or experience. During my most recent trip, the Cast Members were beyond friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our meals were memorable.

Is Geyser Point worth it?

Yes, Geyser Point is truly a great spot to grab food and drinks for both resort and non-resort guests.

And if you’re staying at the hotel, be sure to also take advantage of the walk-up window. You can’t beat Geyser Point for pool food.

I also love that it’s accessible via water transportation. If you need a break from Magic Kingdom, hop on a boat and head on over to Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge. You can thank me later.

Better yet, Geyser Point is even a lovely nighttime activity, especially if you just want to grab a drink and watch the Electrical Water Pageant.

From the fantastic food, to the rustic theming, to the relaxing atmosphere, to the beautiful views, Geyser Point is a spot everyone should try at least once when visiting Disney World.
