This is a very important topic of conversation, at least if you’re visiting Walt Disney World, that is.

Did you know you can order select ‘Ohana offerings at Tambu Lounge? That’s right. You can find some extremely popular dishes at the bar and lounge located right next door to the famous restaurant at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Let’s just get to which ‘Ohana dinner menu items you can get at Tambu Lounge, because I don’t want to leave you hanging any longer. Trust me when I say you don’t want to miss out on either of the following.

‘Ohana vs. Tambu Lounge

You can find both ‘Ohana and Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian, one of the original hotel’s that opened alongside Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort on October 1, 1971.

Both dining spots are located on the second level of the Great Ceremonial House, aka the lobby. They are also on the same level as the monorail and Kona Cafe.

‘Ohana is a Table Service restaurant (reservations are highly recommended) that serves a Polynesian-themed dinner and offers a super cute character breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch. Both meals are served family style.

‘Ohana is extremely popular and reservations are hard to come by, so if you aren’t able to snag one for dinner, I recommend heading on over right next door to Tambu Lounge. Why? Because that’s where you can get two well-known dinner menu items.

FYI: You can also order the Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings, Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, and Pork Dumplings from ‘Ohana at Tambu Lounge, but I’m not going to discuss those since I can’t eat them as a vegetarian. Plus, the following two menu items are more popular.

If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it is accepted at Tambu Lounge (1 Table Service credits per person). Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members do not receive a discount.

‘Ohana Noodles

Have you ever heard of ‘Ohana Noodles? They are highly popular amongst Disney World fans.

At ‘Ohana, these noodles are served alongside other items in the family-style ‘Ohana Dinner Skillet and Plant-Based Dinner Skillet. But, at Tambu Lounge, you get your very own serving!

These famous noodles are similar to lo mein, but stickier and not as greasy. It might not look like it in this photo, but you get a really good portion for $13.50. I’ve eaten this for dinner plenty of times. It’s super filling.

If you like noodles and a lo mein-style dish, I have no doubt you will also enjoy ‘Ohana Noodles.

‘Ohana Bread Pudding

Three words: ‘Ohana Bread Pudding. Doesn’t it look drool-worthy?

Admittedly, I don’t even like bread pudding. However, that cannot be said for the ‘Ohana Bread Pudding. This coconut-pineapple bread pudding is absolutely phenomenal. It’s served with vanilla ice cream and a homemade caramel sauce. This is definitely shareable, since you get a huge piece for $13.00.

‘Ohana Bread Pudding is very similar to the bread pudding served at Sebastian’s Bistro, which I also love. ‘Ohana even has a vegan version of the bread pudding!

Tambu Lounge Seating

Tambu Lounge has limited seating. This is one of the more popular lounges at Disney World. It tends to get busy later in the day due to guests waiting for their ‘Ohana reservations.

You’ll find both bar seating and a few tables. Reservations aren’t accepted here, which makes snagging a seat a bit more competitive. For lounge seating, you must wait to be seated, whereas bar seating is first come, first served.

Tambu Lounge is open from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. (make sure you confirm hours online or in the My Disney Experience app). You can’t get food until 4 p.m., with dishes served until 10 p.m.

You’ll see above that only the noodles are listed on the official lounge menu, but you can also order the bread pudding.

If you’re looking for a good drink at Tambu Lounge (and you’re a beer lover, like myself), definitely order the Terrapin Luau Krunkles Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava IPA from Athens, GA for $10.25. It’s hoppy, citrusy, and delicious.

Tambu Lounge is also known for the Lapu Lapu, a cocktail served in a pineapple. Yes, an actual pineapple. It’s certainly not cheap at $19.50, but it’s full of tropical fruit juices and alcohol, including Plantation Original Dark Rum and Gosling’s 151 Rum.

I can’t recommend Tambu Lounge enough. Not only is it a great way to enjoy ‘Ohana dinner food without paying the hefty price tag, but it also makes for a fun lounge offering good food, good drinks, and good vibes.

Have you ever had the noodles and bread pudding from ‘Ohana or at Tambu Lounge?
