When traveling on select Disney Cruise Line Bahamian and Caribbean cruises, you may head to Disney’s privately own island — Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
First, you need to know “Cay” is pronounced like “key”. Second, we need to go over one of the most important parts of the island — the food.

Let’s talk about the vegetarian options on Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Plus, drinks, bars, and, of course, ice cream.

What is Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point?
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is Disney’s second privately owned island, similar to Castaway Cay. To be clear, this isn’t an entirely private island, as the island sits on the southernmost tip of Eleuthera (about 70 miles east of Nassau).

The island, named after a historic lighthouse, celebrates the region’s natural beauty (there’s even a nature trail) and also shines a light on the Bahamian culture. Disney partnered with Bahamian artists, historians, and local cultural ambassadors to bring the island to life.
Keep in mind there is about an 11-minute walk from the ship to the only tram that will take you to Lookout Cay (both the family and adult beaches). The walk really isn’t that bad, especially when temperatures aren’t too hot.

For families with little ones, wagons are provided. There are also golf carts available to transport those with mobility needs.
During my February 2026 sailing on the Fantasy, guests wanting to utilize the golf carts were told to meet Crew Members at Preludes between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. After 10:30 a.m., guests were instructed to head to Deck 1 and wait for the next available golf cart.
For more information about golf carts to and from Lookout Cay during your sailing, visit Guest Services.

There are a range of activities available for guests to book on the island and the chance to meet Mickey and friends in special Bahamian costumes designed by acclaimed Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett.
You’ll also find signature Disney entertainment on the island, including at the Goombay Cultural Center. Here, you can learn about the traditions and natural beauty of The Bahamas. You definitely don’t want to miss RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration, a “colorful, musical procession” led by a local Junkanoo group with Mickey and friends in tow.

As for the beaches, there are two different beaches on Lookout Cay: the Family Beach and Serenity Bay. The latter is an adults-only beach for guests 18 years and older. Lounge chairs and towels are provided on both beaches.
What are the vegetarian options on Lookout Cay?
There are three open-air all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet dining spots for lunch. The locations include:
- True-True BBQ
- True-True BBQ Too
- Serenity Bay BBQ (on the adult-only Serenity Bay beach)

You’ll also find a fountain drink station, fresh fruit, salads, and desserts. You can only find soft-serve ice cream at True-True BBQ and True-True BBQ Too. Hard ice cream is served at Serenity Bay BBQ.
All of the buffets offer a range of island and BBQ-themed options, including many vegetarian offerings.

During my February 2026 sailing on the Disney Fantasy, I tried the following at Serenity Bay BBQ.
I had so many amazing sides and salads! From the fresh broccoli, to the corn, to the macaroni and cheese, to the potato salad, to the black bean and pineapple dish, to the curry tofu, the options are endless.

These were all fantastic — and so much better than Cabanas. I wish this food was served on the ship.
For my fellow vegetarians, there is a specific vegetarian station, where you can order an Impossible burger. Fries also come on the side.

My plant-based burger automatically came with tomato, lettuce, and onion. If you don’t want a specific topping, be sure to modify. There is a separate station with condiments.
Dessert is always a must. There are a range of options, but I went for the hard ice cream. I tried vanilla and strawberry topped with Oreos and peanut butter brownie bites.

If you want soft-serve ice cream, you’ll have to head to the family-friendly dining locations.
Is the food free on Lookout Cay?
Yes, lunch, soft drinks, and soft-serve ice cream are all included in the cost of the cruise.
Alcohol and specialty beverages are an additional cost on Lookout Cay, just like they are on the ships.
What time is lunch on Lookout Cay?
If you choose to eat on Lookout Cay, the all-you-care-to-enjoy lunch buffet usually runs from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. You don’t need a reservation, nor is this is a sit-down style lunch.

It’s super casual. You can have lunch whatever time you want, as long as it’s between these hours.
You can also find Lookout Cay lunch times in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, along with the different dining options.
Lookout Cay Bars
If you’re of age and would like to partake in an alcoholic beverage, especially an island-themed cocktail, there are several bars to purchase drinks.

These include:
- Mangroves & Go
- Sandsational Smoothies (only serves non-alcoholic frozen beverages and specialty drinks)
- Reef & Wreck Bar
- Watering Hole Bar
- Bow & Ribbon Bar
- Blue Hole Bar (on the adult-only Serenity Bay beach)

At the Blue Hole Bar, I first tried the Smash. It comes with Starr 7 Years Rum, Malibu, Apricot Brandy, pineapple, orange, lime, and Angostura. This was very tasty and made for a great beach drink. It goes down easy, maybe way too easy. Oh, and it only costs $9.00!
As a beer lover, I, of course, had to try a Bahamas-crafted beer, Kalik for $7.75. This is the national lager of The Bahamas and has been brewed by Commonwealth Brewery in Nassau since 1988.

This was a lovely lager with great flavor. I highly recommend it if you want something light, especially while sitting on the beach in the sun.
While I was on Serenity Bay, the bartenders also walked around the beach taking drink orders, meaning you don’t have to get up from your spot.
How do you pay for stuff on Lookout Cay?
Like on the ships, you’ll use your Key to the World card for additional purchases on the island.
Are there dining options on the ship during Lookout Cay day?
If you don’t go to Lookout Cay or decide to eat on the ship versus the island, you’ll be able to eat at the offered lunch locations on board.
