What is The Beak and Barrel?
The Beak and Barrel is a bar and lounge inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and extends the story we all know and love.

This is an immersive experience thanks to the Cast Members, storytelling, interactions, and more.
The story behind the tavern is as follows: it was “established by the legendary pirate rumrunner, Captain Meridian ‘Merry’ Goldwyn, and her talkative first mate, Rummy.” He even sits on his roost atop the bar, where you can hear him talk from time to time.

The tavern has three areas, including The Mess, The Captains’ Quarters, and The Mapmaker’s Room. Learn more about each section.
You’ll can find The Beak and Barrel in Adventureland. The tavern takes over the old Pirates League space, located across from Tortuga Tavern and directly next to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Kids are allowed inside The Beak and Barrel, unlike at GEO-82,
In order to enjoy Beak and Barrel, you must make a reservation in advance. Reservations are competitive and space is limited. You can make a reservation online or in the My Disney Experience app. At this time, a walk-up list is not available.

Keep in mind there is a time limit for The Beak and Barrel. Each party has 45 minutes inside the tavern. Plus, there’s a maximum of 2 drinks per guest.

The price varies at Beak and Barrel. Small bites run from $12.00 to $18.00. Cocktails, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages are all priced differently. For example, signature cocktails range between $18.50 and $46.00 (this includes a souvenir pirate skull mug).

The Beak and Barrel Review
The pirate-themed experience started as soon as I checked in for my Beak and Barrel reservation. The Cast Member out front had the best pirate accent setting the tone for what was inside the tavern.
Note: In addition to in person, you can check in 15 minutes prior to your Beak and Barrel reservation in the My Disney Experience app.

Luckily, my name was called immediately. I did not get seated at a table, but I was escorted to the bar. Like Oga’s Cantina, the bar at The Beak and Barrel is standing only. Yes, you will have to stand for the entire 45 minutes. They also make sure to fill the entire bar space, but I never felt crowded.
As soon as my bartender introduced himself, I felt like I was at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. He was funny, personable, and ready to make sure I had a good time.

As a self-proclaimed craft beer connoisseur, I, of course, had to try the exclusive beers at The Beak and Barrel.
First, the Pirate’s Paradise Blonde Ale brewed by Victory Brewing Co. For $11.75, you get a worthy pour in a cold stein fit for a true pirate.
This is an absolutely delicious blonde ale. Not all blonde ales are created equal, but it’s so flavorful. If you don’t want anything too strong or aren’t a huge beer fan, this is a great option.

Next, the second exclusive Beak and Barrel beer: the Berried Treasure Session Sour from Wicked Weed Brewing. This is more expensive than the blonde ale at $13.50, but absolutely worth the price.
I don’t even like sours, but Wicked Weed Brewing pulled off this one! It doesn’t even taste like a sour, but more like a berry-flavored dry hard cider. When I go back to Beak and Barrel, this is the beverage I’m ordering.

I also tried the Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale, one of the specialty cocktails, thanks to my friend who visited Beak and Barrel alongside me. This costs $19.00 and comes with Don Q Reserva 7 Puerto Rican Rum, hibiscus, demerara, and lime topped with prosecco.

This is strong! It didn’t taste horrible, but it was very much rum forward. Let’s just say I felt like I walked out of the tavern similar to Jack Sparrow post-rum.
Finally, I tried Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes with Roasted Corn and Poblano Peppers for $12.00. These warm corn cakes are stuffed with melted cheese, lime sour cream, chili peppers, and cotija.

The corn griddle cakes have a little bite and are super flavorful. I will absolutely order this again. You also get a huge serving. I’m really happy there are vegetarian-friendly food items on Beak and Barrel’s menu.
As for the atmosphere, Beak and Barrel lived up to my expectations. The bartenders were so much fun. There are so many different interactive moments that Pirates of the Caribbean fans will absolutely adore.

If you like Trader Sam’s, then you’re going to love Beak and Barrel. The tavern is so well done, including the decor. There are so many details placed throughout the space. I wish I would’ve had more time to look at everything.
Overall, I (mostly) have zero complaints about everything I experienced. I can’t wait to go back for the Berried Treasure Session Sour, Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes with Roasted Corn and Poblano Peppers, and the atmosphere.
Is The Beak and Barrel worth it?
Yes, The Beak and Barrel is worth it! Disney, you did good.
Before I dive into the pros, there is one negative about Beak and Barrel — the time limit.
Keep in mind that Beak and Barrel isn’t for you if you’re looking to rest your feet, relax, and enjoy your drink in a leisurely fashion.

I totally understand why there is a set time for guests. They have a lot of people to move in and out in a timely manner. But, 45 minutes felt a bit rushed to me. I wish we got at least 60 minutes. An additional 15 minutes would make a huge difference.
Keep mind that they do hold you to the 45-minute time limit. During my reservation, a Cast Member came in and told the couple next to me that their 45 minutes was up and they had to go. Luckily, they finished their drinks and had already paid.
I suggest you go in knowing what you want to order, so you’re not wasting time analyzing the menu.

Standing at the bar also didn’t bother me, but it may frustrate some, especially if you’ve been walking all day.
Despite that, I love The Beak and Barrel. The food, drinks, design, interactions, and atmosphere are top notch. I think this is a great space, especially for adults and Pirates fans. The price is also reasonable for what you get. I can’t wait to visit again.
