Beaches & Cream Review (is the soda shop worth it for vegetarians?)

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a popular dining destination at Walt Disney World. So much so, reservations can sometimes be hard to snag.

I’ve been wanting to eat here for awhile. Thankfully, I was able to book a reservation and eat dinner with my family for the first time recently.

The food and desserts always look so good, but are they? Here is my Beaches & Cream review from when I ate here on February 9, 2025.

What is Beaches & Cream?

You can find Beaches & Cream at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, which is inspired by the nostalgia of the Atlantic seashore.

The soda shop, of course, offers a variety of desserts, like flavored sodas, malted milkshakes, sundaes, and more. You can even have a sit-down lunch or dinner, including a range of sandwiches and burgers.

If you can’t snag a reservation here, there is a to-go window where you can order ice cream and beverages.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to be staying at the hotel to eat or drink at Beaches & Cream. But, Disney World hotels can sometimes be strict about letting in non-resort guests, unless they have dining reservations. Deluxe hotels seem to be stricter about this compared to Moderate and Value resorts.

If you drive yourself or use rideshare and don’t have a reservation, there is a chance the security guard at the entrance won’t let you get dropped off or park. If you use Disney World transportation (a bus, boat, or the Disney Skyliner) or walk from EPCOT or a nearby hotel, there won’t be any issue.

  • TipReservations are always recommended for any Table Service restaurant at Walt Disney World. You can make these at the 60-day mark online or via the My Disney Experience app beginning at 5:45 a.m. ET (sometimes they don’t open until 6 a.m. ET). If you have issues, call (407) WDW-DINE. If you can’t get a reservation, you can always use a Disney dining reservation alert service, like MouseDining. If you can’t get a reservation, you can try to join the Walk-Up List for the restaurant (if available) in the My Disney Experience app.

How much does Beaches & Cream cost?

  • It’s important to note that prices and menus frequently change at Walt Disney World. The following is based on my most recent visit.

The cost to eat at Beaches & Cream depends on what you order. Sides range from $6.00 to $11.00, while entrees vary between $18.00 and $23.00. Entrees for kids run from $10.50 to $12.50. As for desserts, they range between $7.25 to $39.00 (the latter being the Kitchen Sink that serves four). You’ll also need to factor beverages into the cost.

If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it is accepted here for lunch and dinner (1 Table Service credit per person). Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members also receive 10% off the regular price of food and non-alcoholic beverages (excluding tax and gratuity).

Below is a look at the Beaches & Cream menu. There are also allergy-friendly options, but guests will need to speak with a Cast Member about their allergy-friendly request(s).

Beaches & Cream Review

For my entree, I tried the Impossible Burger for $23.00. It comes with a plant-based burger topped with plant-based mayonnaise, caramelized balsamic-onion jam, lettuce, and tomato on a multigrain bun. A dill pickle spear and cherry tomato are also served on the bun.

You can choose between tater tots, French fries, or fresh fruit as your side. I went with tater tots. Overall, this was a good burger, but nothing mind-blowing.

I did really like the caramelized balsamic-onion jam, though. The tots were your standard tots.

That said, I’ve had much better veggie burgers at Disney World and would absolutely rather pay $24.00 for the Vegan Stack Burger at Steakhouse 71.

I also want to mention the Beaches & Cream Grilled Cheese for $18.00. My dad got this, but I tried it and wish I would’ve ordered this instead of my burger. It’s a great grilled cheese!

It comes with tomato soup, but you can substitute with tots, fries, or fresh fruit. If you want to add bacon or ham, you can do so for an additional $5.00 each.

If I ever dine again at Beaches & Cream, I will order the grilled cheese.

Finally, dessert. You can’t go to Beaches & Cream and not order ice cream! My sister and I shared the No Way José sundae for $13.50.

The sundae comes with chocolate and vanilla ice cream topped with peanut butter sauce, hot fudge, peanut butter and chocolate morsels, whipped cream, and a cherry.

This was so good and lived up to my expectations. There is something truly special about the peanut butter sauce. I could drink it.

I wouldn’t be able to eat the No Way José on my own. It’s a huge serving of ice cream! I’m glad I shared it with my sister.

It’s basically an exact replica of the All-American Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom, but larger.

While I thought the No Way José was a lot of ice cream, I hadn’t seen anything until I saw the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream! The menu says it “serves four,” but you can definitely split this between more than four people.

It’s served in such a fun way with your server announcing you ordered the Kitchen Sink to everyone in the restaurant as they deliver it to your table. It costs $39.00, which is actually a great deal for the amount you get and if four people are going to get their own ice cream sundae any way.

The Kitchen Sink even comes with a whole can of whipped cream! “A whole can?!” That’s right, a whole can!

Is Beaches & Cream worth it?

To be honest, Beaches & Cream isn’t a must-visit for me. I’m glad I tried it, but I won’t be rushing back, especially as a vegetarian.

I don’t think this is a destination vegetarians need to put at the top of their Disney World dining list. There are only a couple vegetarian-friendly menu items.

While my vegan burger was fine and I really enjoyed the grilled cheese, I think there are other restaurants that are much better for vegetarians.

That said, I really did enjoy my sundae. If you’re craving ice cream and are staying at the hotel or nearby or happen to be at EPCOT, I recommend grabbing some ice cream at the to-go window.

There are even tables outside. Keep in mind that this area can be very busy thanks to the uber popular pool, Stormalong Bay, which is located right across from the soda shop.

During my dinner reservation, it was very quiet due to the pool being under refurbishment.

While I did enjoy my time here thanks to the fun atmosphere, decent food, and delicious sundae, it’s not the best place I’ve eaten at on Disney World property. You get what is advertised — soda shop food and ice cream.

However, don’t let that discourage you from trying Beaches & Cream. There are so many who love it here and consider it a must-do each trip, and you might to. But, you won’t know that until you try it.

Beaches & Cream certainly isn’t a waste of money, but I, personally, won’t be making this a top priority anytime soon.
